The Transformed Life: Looking Back, Looking Ahead
Sermon Recap
This week, Benton wrapped up the Transformed Life series with John 21:9-25 and invited us into SERVE MARIETTA, an initiative that will transform our community over the summer.
Scripture Reading
John 21:9-25
See It
How have you been transformed by Christ this past year?
What is Jesus doing by asking if Peter loves him and then gives him a call to feed his sheep? (Note: also look at how Jesus asks for their fish when he already has fish on the fire)
Why would it be helpful for us to hear the question Peter asks about John’s future?
Be It
Even though sin has been paid in full and you have been redeemed, what is an old memory that reminds you of “old failings, old pains, or old wounds” and how can you make space this week for God to meet you to redeem those memories as well?
What is God calling you to, that he might not be calling the person next to you in? Write down this week the unique things God has for you and what you can bring to shepherd others that no one else can.
As Peter is commissioned, what is the one thing God commissioned you to do in this Serve Marietta initiative this summer?
