Scripture Reading
John 20:24–31
See It
What are the three things that overlap with the disciples story of seeing Jesus and Thomas story of seeing Jesus? And what does that tell us about how Jesus interacts with us?
If John is showing us what a faith community is like, what should how focus be on as we look at how the disciples have a conversation with Thomas? What was their relationship like at this point that would help with being a community that can be honest with our doubt?
How might our view of what faith means be different than that of Thomas and how might it be the same?
Be It
We often call Thomas a doubter, but he was other things as well, what might be some identity statements given to us or we have given ourselves, that have not helped us in our own doubts but have actually limited further discovery of what God has for us? How does Jesus see you?
How can we be more of a community and spend our days talking about how we have seen Jesus working?
How might you use your doubt to share how you have seen Jesus just like Thomas as he traveled to India?
