The Transformed Life: Back to the Start

Sermon Recap

On Sunday, guest speaker, Lee Lopez preached from John 21:1–14, when Jesus appeared to his disciples by the Sea of Galilee. In this passage we see that Jesus brings Peter back to the water, the boat, the nets, and the miracle—not to send him backward, but to restore his first love.

Scripture Reading

John 21:1–14

See It

  1. Read Luke 5:1–10, when Jesus first called Peter. What parallels do you see?

  2. Why do you think Jesus chose to meet with the disciples in this way?

  3. What does this story tell us about God?

Be It

  1. Where are you currently relying on your own strength or experience instead of inviting Jesus in first? What would change if you did?

  2. In a season where clarity feels low, what has helped you intentionally hear from God: Scripture, prayer, community, or act of obedience? How could you engage in that this week?

  3. What is another step you sense God inviting you into right now—and how will you take that step this week?
