To Be Human: Hearing from God
Sermon Recap
In our To Be Human series, we’ve shifted from looking at who were made to be, to how we relate to God. This week, we welcomed Caroline Schandel, pastoral care pastor of Grace Midtown, who lead us in a teaching and workshop focused on how we hear from God.
Scripture Reading
Reading: Genesis 3
See It & Be It
In Genesis 3, it talks about walking with god in the cool of the day as the normal relationship with God in being friends with him in an ongoing conversation and dialogue? Give an example of what this looks like in your life?
In Genesis 3, the serpent says “did God really say that?” what does this show us about questioning God speaking to us and where does this lie tend to lead you (to not act, interpret differently, think God doesn’t speak to me, etc.)?
In Genesis 3, God says “who told you…” What are some of the other voices that get your attention in your life? Where are they coming from?
Caroline emphasized how this was normal for us as children of God and in the normal ryhtmns of our lives he wants to speak. Where are the regular places you go and how are you preparing your heart to hear from Him in thos places?
Just like we practiced on Sunday, hearing his voice for someone else, who is someone you can practice with in hearing God’s voice this week?
